
The Honourable John D. Reynolds has nearly 40 years of experience at the highest levels of Canadian national and provincial governments and in a diverse range of cross-border business enterprises. He is currently a senior strategic advisor for clients of a major Canadian law firm, Lang Michener. Mr. Reynolds is uniquely qualified to advise corporate and business clients on concerns involving public policy advocacy, natural resource development, and growth opportunities in markets throughout North America, Asia/Pacific and Africa.
As a director of two natural resources producers, he is familiar with exploration and mine development issues involving gold, nickel and chromium, in regions as diverse as Kazakhstan, Australia, Ghana and South Africa. Having served as Minister of the Environment for British Columbia, he has practical knowledge of governmental policy involving the interplay between land use, economic development and First Nations issues. Also, as a former president of an American-based venture capital company, Mr. Reynolds understands private and public financing sources for growing businesses.
He served for three years as Vice Chair of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association- Executive Committee (the first Canadian political leader to hold such a position), making him well positioned to draw on relationships established among the Association's 112 Commonwealth nations, states and provinces. He has also been Vice Chair of the Canada/UK Parliamentary Association's Executive Committee.
During his most recent 10 years in the House of Commons, Mr. Reynolds served numerous shadow cabinet roles, was Official Opposition Whip and House Leader, and was elected by the caucus and the Executive Committee as Leader of Her Majesty's Official Opposition. Mr. Reynolds also served as Chair of Stephen Harper's Leadership Campaign and Co-Chair of Prime Minister Harper's 2006 Election Campaign. His nine years of provincial legislative and ministerial experience well position him to help Northport achieve even its most complex and sophisticated strategic objectives.
Brian Roberts - B.Comm.For the past 27 years Brian has been the principal of B. Roberts & Associates of Delta, B.C., a private financial and business consulting firm. He was previously President and a co-founder of Gilmour McKay Roberts Consulting Ltd., which provided services for corporations in financial distress as well as diligence services on acquisition candidates. In that capacity, he carried out a broad range of business consulting assignments involving acquisitions and corporate finance and was principal author or reviewer on over 600 separate assignments.
